Upkeep of the house is one of those things that come along about every five years. Where the wear and tear or just the real needs that present themselves, because of progress, become unavoidable. Though we can easily address these over the course of the next couple years as God blesses us, to make them part of our regular budget would mean temporarily pulling back on ministry or outreach which we believe is important.
Primary investment: New offices created, replace sections of or roof & gutters, New HVAC units, new I.T. servers and system upgrades, Outside of the building repainted (dirty and has mold growing on it – gross), outside lighting not adequate for security, security cameras, new data base systems, children and youth facility needs and minor upgrades, landscape to replace dead plants and trees. Vehicles purchased that we consistantly rent, like box trucks, shuttles, etc.
Benefits: This is one of those areas that we usually tackle inside of the budget. Because of the purpose of “multiply” we felt it was important to bring the bodies attention to these items. Sharpening what we do here is foundational to anything else we do. Taking care of home first is a scriptural commandment. Tackling these items addresses them directly, and indirectly frees up resources for other areas. This also positions us to be stronger financially in our books for our new building expansion. Although we feel like spending all that comes in is holy and I agree, a financial institution doesn’t view it that way.
